Night-time personal assistant opportunity with flexibility and travel in Copenhagen

dato

AREA: 2100 København

ABOUT ME:
Are you caring, independent, and looking for a meaningful job with human connection and variety? Then this position might be just right for you.

A 28-hour position as my personal assistant in the night will become available in December. I kindly ask that you do not apply via Facebook – instead, please send your application and CV (preferably with a photo) to bpa.astrid@gmail.com. Interviews will be held on an ongoing basis. You must have a valid driver’s license for driving in Denmark, and a basis experience in driving.

I’m a 25-year-old cheerful woman living in a two-room apartment with my cat near Vibenshus Runddel, while studying at the university. I have cerebral palsy (CP), and I always try to focus on possibilities rather than limitations. I’m energetic, honest, and patient by nature.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To live my active life, you play an important role by making sure I get the best possible sleep. That’s why you stay awake throughout the night shift, which typically runs from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00/7:30 a.m. You will need to turn me when necessary. The job also includes practical tasks such as cleaning and writing notes on my speech computer. Once you’ve completed these tasks, you can spend time on your own things while keeping an eye on the screen to see if I need assistance. You’ll be in my living room, and my cat will keep you company.

As I’m a young person, I’m not necessarily in bed when the shift begins. Therefore, I’ll need help with personal hygiene, accompaniment, etc. You’ll also assist me in getting ready in the morning when I have early classes at the university. For this reason, I’m looking for a female assistant.

I love to travel and have family in Sønderborg and a partner in Stockholm, so through the job you’ll occasionally get to experience other places as well. For that reason, a valid driver’s license for driving a car in Denmark and some driving experience is absolutely required.

If you’d like to know more about me, you can Google my name: Astrid Siemens Lorenzen 😉

You’ll receive thorough training, so previous experience in similar positions isn’t necessary. What matters most is that you have a kind heart, a good sense of humor, can work independently — and can sleep during the day after your night shifts 😉

You’ll become part of a team of seven assistants who help cover for each other during sickness and holidays. I’m looking for someone who wants to be part of my life for an extended period – ideally a couple of years – so we can build a strong and trusting relationship.

You don’t need to speak Danish to apply – I speak English and am happy to communicate in English day-to-day. So if you’re good at English and the job sounds interesting to you, I would love to hear from you! If you’re interested in learning Danish, this job is also a great opportunity to do so.

The work schedule is planned well in advance and takes into account both my and the assistants’ preferences. Most of the time, the schedule follows a two-week rotation:

Week 1: Monday and Tuesday

Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
